FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

COVID-19 Update:

Following the announcement by the UK Government (23/03/2020), we would like to reassure our clients that due to being a online retailer, we are not impacted by store closures and will remain openWith this in mind, we are actively monitoring the advice and requirements proposed by the Government, NHS and WHO to tackle these challenging times. Customer and staff safety remains a top priority for us. Below are the actions we have taken as a business and the changes that have impacted us:

- We have asked all non essential staff to work from home where they can as well as reducing our kitchen workforce.

- We have implemented rigorous hygiene procedures for manufacturing

- Our delivery partners are operating with reduced drivers which means that deliveries are to be slightly delayed by 2-3 working days

Rest assured we are doing everything we can to ensure that you can still order as normal from our online store (and throughout Ramadan). We would like to thank ALL of our customers for their support and patience during these challenging times

Thank you for continuing to trust us.

Love, The Datery Management

Frequently asked questions
Q: What is the best before date?
A: Our chocolate dates last up to 4 months (if not eaten already!) and will need to be stored in a cool and dry place away from any direct sunlight - a biscuit cupboard is the ideal location
Q: How long does it take for delivery?
A: We aim to dispatch orders within 2-3 days of the order being placed as all of our products are handmade. We use next day delivery for all orders once ready for dispatch. *Please note that we do not dispatch orders on Fridays as we want to avoid our gift boxes sitting in post storage over the weekend*
Missed Delivery Clause
Should delivery to the address not be possible, a card should be left by the carrier to let you know how you can collect the parcel or how to arrange re-delivery. It then becomes the recipient's responsibility to arrange a suitable re-delivery date. As the delivery is perishable, we always advise our drivers to leave with neighbours if nobody is at home. We accept no liability if delivery is not made due to the recipient not being available, or if goods become unsuitable as a result of non-delivery
Q: Do all of our products contain nuts?
A: Any products which contain nuts will be clearly labelled for those with allergies. All of our products are produced in a kitchen which uses nuts.
Q: What are your delivery charges?
A: Our delivery charges are based on weight and follow the below structure;
0-1kg = 3.95
1-2kg = 5.95
2-5kg = 13.95 (courier service beyond 2kg)
5kg-10kg = 17.95
10-15kg = 24.95
Q: Are your products suitable for Vegans?
A: Our Dark Chocolate is suitable for Vegans. Please note that they may contain traces of milk products as we use the same kitchen for our other products.
Q: Are your products Halal?
A: All of our products are 100% halal and suitable for vegetarians
Q: Do you cater for weddings or specific events e.g. corporate orders?
A: We sure do! If you email us at orders@thedatery.co.uk we would love to have a chat
Q: Do you provide your chocolate dates at wholesale?
A: If you are interested in wholesale orders, please email orders@thedatery.co.uk and one of our sales team members will be in touch
Q: What is your location and can I pick up my order?
A: Our kitchen is based in Harrow on the Hill (HA1). If you have placed an order online, you can arrange to pick it up. We will need at least 24 hours notice so that we can prepare your order.
